Scalehoue Capital and D11Z.Ventures invested over EUR 1 million in myhotel.team GmbH and the MICE DESK product in August 2024.

In August 2024, we reached an important milestone together with our new partners Scalehouse Capital and D11Z.Ventures : More than one million euros were invested in our company – a strong sign of trust in our work and our team.

The MICE and hotel industry is currently facing immense challenges: A shortage of skilled workers, rising costs, and increasing pressure to digitize are shaping the everyday lives of many hotels. At MICE DESK, we have made it our mission to address these challenges – with a hybrid approach combining technology and operational excellence that increases efficiency and conserves resources.

In the following interviews, Manuel Böhringer of Scalehouse Capital and Sebastian Pyzalski of D11Z.Ventures explain why they are so convinced of our work and vision. They talk about the market's potential, the innovative strength of our company, and the unique spirit of the founding team. Interview with Manuel Böhringer from Scalehouse Capital:

1. What motivated you to invest in MICE DESK? What makes the company so special compared to other startups in the hospitality and MICE industry?

The founding team, consisting of Bernd, Tigran, and Tobias, is passionate about the topic, has strong industry connections, and is highly motivated to build a leading provider for the MICE industry.

MICE DESK stands out in the hospitality and MICE industry with its clear vision and approach to optimizing the often fragmented and inefficient processes in this space. What's particularly impressive is the way the company creates real added value through its platform – for both event planners and suppliers. The solution goes far beyond what we've seen from other companies in the industry."

1. What motivated you to invest in MICE DESK? What makes the company so special compared to other startups in the hospitality and MICE industry?

"At a time when megatrends such as demographic change and staff shortages pose major challenges for the hotel industry, we see MICE DESK as an innovative solution that addresses the pressure to digitize the industry. Given rising inflation and its impact on margins, optimizing the highly profitable MICE business is more important than ever. MICE DESK offers precisely the tools hoteliers need to increase productivity and manage the cost pressures of rising personnel costs. With the team behind MICE DESK, led by Bernd Tigran and Tobias, we see great potential to further disrupt this ossified market."

2. The hotel and MICE industry is facing major challenges, be it staff shortages, inefficient processes, or increasing technological demands. What makes you confident that MICE DESK can not only overcome these challenges but also have a lasting impact on the industry?

"With its hybrid approach of technology and human resources, MICE DESK offers a solution that supports the entire request processing process from start to finish. Data is managed along the entire value chain, from request capture to invoice verification. MICE DESK thus offers the entire industry a complete, worry-free package." 

3. Looking to the future, how big do you think MICE DESK has the potential to change the way hotels manage events and group bookings? What key developments do you expect to see in the coming years?

"According to a study by the Research Institute for Exhibition & Live Communication, the MICE industry, which also includes commercially oriented events, generates over 114 billion euros annually in Germany alone. A significant portion of this revenue comes from hotels that host numerous international and national meetings, conferences, and events. This market is of enormous economic importance, but also faces major challenges. MICE DESK is addressing these challenges with a close integration of human resources and artificial intelligence and is already supporting major international hotel chains. This demonstrates that these challenges are far from a national issue, but a global one."

4. What was the key moment when you knew that MICE DESK was the right investment for you?

“The moment when numerous customers, from (individual) conference hotels in the Black Forest to large hotel operators, confirmed to us that MICE DESK is the only viable answer to the gap between untapped revenue potential and resource scarcity.”
