MICE Benchmark Report 2024 - Focus on speed and quality

Several times a year, we analyze the response and offer times as well as the offer quality of conference hotels in order to make the developments and trends in the MICE sector visible. This year, we already carried out an evaluation in January and June - and the latest results are now available in October. The industry is eager to find out how the values have developed in comparison to the previous reports.

Speed of response and offer quality: two key factors

The latest results show that hotel response times have improved: Over half of the hotels surveyed now responded within the first 24 hours. But speed alone is not enough. Of the offers submitted, 54% were rated as "poor" or "unsatisfactory", as there was often a lack of needs analysis or a clear understanding of the customer format. Ultimately, such quality deficits have a negative impact on the conversion rate and hotel revenue.

Example results from the analysis

  • Fast responses: Around 32% of hotels responded within the first 24 hours - a positive sign of growing service readiness.

  • Lack of response: The proportion of hotels that did not respond to the request at all is still far too high at almost 41%.

  • Offer quality: Only 4% of the offers were specifically tailored to the desired event format, while the rest remained largely standardized.

Conclusion: Quality and speed go hand in hand

The results clearly show that successful inquiry processing is not only based on speed, but also on high-quality offers that respond individually to the customer's needs. Those who ensure both can look forward to higher conversion rates and long-term customer relationships.
